2G user bases had a sharp fall in recent years as customers started to migrate to 3G and 4G. But, when Reliance Jio and other telecom operators such as Vodafone and Airtel started to provide 4G services to tap the market, the 4G user base in India rapidly gained market. According to a recent study, Indian mobile users to grow by 6% CAGR to 1 billion by 2026, which means that it is going to cover 70% of the country’s population by 2026. The 4G connections in India are expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 164 percent in 2026, accounting for 26% of the total mobile connections by 2026.
